Iran Interlink Weekly Digest Mojahedin Khalq MEK NCRI Rajavi cult

++ This week several analysts and commentators have written about the meeting in Poland arranged by Pompeo and Bolton, focusing on the role the MEK has played. The MEK’s false propaganda has been used to pretend Iran poses a terrorist threat in Albania and the Netherlands and Belgium etc. The fake threat has been so easily swallowed that it has ended up with the detention of American born journalist Marzieh Hashemi as she arrived in the USA from Iran. Even though no charges have been made against her, the MEK insist she was arrested on spying charges. This only reminds everyone that the MEK ridiculously and falsely still claim that two retired Iranian journalists, invited to Albania for a religious cultural gathering, had come to kill some MEK members in a closed camp 30 km away. This and other MEK planned activities and propaganda are what Bolton and Pompeo intend to use against Iran in Poland. The general conclusion among Farsi writers is that they have lost the battle because their battle was to gain Syria and now they are using MEK to try to rake something back after this defeat.

+ This week several analysts and commentators have written about the meeting in Poland arranged by Pompeo and Bolton, focusing on the role the MEK has played. ++ It was revealed that the MEK paid 800,000 euros to the electoral campaign of Spain’s right-wing anti-EU Vox party (80% of its budget). The MEK arranged for its contributions to the campaign to be made by 140 MEK people in Europe and North America through their long-term European Parliament lobbyist Alejo Vidal-Quadras. Ex-members write that this kind of financial activity is not new for the MEK. This is how group does money laundry. The money comes from those who want to interfere in Europe and break up the European Union (chiefly America). Those who provide the money are happy for this activity to continue. Reports, however, reveal that as a result of this money going through the MEK, the payments are exposed to corruption and inefficiency as 180,000 euros was taken directly by Vidal-Quadras before passing the rest to Vox. As far as MEK are concerned they have had to admit to this financial activity while members in Albania are suffering for lack of medicine and proper living conditions in their closed camp. Commentators say that the donors are losing money and losing face by doing this.

In English:

++ The variety of articles written about the MEK this week is evidence of how controversial the group remains. As hard as it and its paymasters try to whitewash its past and deny its current crimes and abuses, the revelations simply keep on coming. From money laundry activities as funds are channelled through MEK to a right-wing anti-EU political party in Spain, to its role in creating a fake narrative about the threat of Iranian terrorism in Europe, to its corrupting influence in the small town of Auvers-sur-Oise where payments ensure that subsequent mayors allow the MEK every freedom in the town, the MEK cannot escape controversy.

++ The Iranian news agency IRNA is not above publishing its own sensational, shock horror news about the MEK. Apparently, according to an Iraqi MP, some members of the MEK have regrouped in Iraq with the help of US military forces there. One wonders how they found a single MEK member under the age of forty. The MEK have not recruited new members in any numbers for at least two decades. Their enforced celibacy mean that no children have been born to take over the work and activities of a membership whose average age is over 60. In Albania, reports are coming in weekly of MEK members dying and defecting. So, who exactly are these MEK that the Iraqi MP is dreaming about?
