Swedish Court In Albania an Mojahedin Khalq Saddam's FedayeenIran Interlink, November 13 2021:… More on the Swedish court in Albania. Commentators ask why the court has gone to Albania to take witness testimony? Why didn’t they send the witnesses to Sweden? Some say that it is clear: if they get to Sweden they will run away and claim asylum there. Many know these people from MEK. They explain: they have been killing and begging, but they have done so as Gladiators, forced to do this by Rajavi. If they have the chance, they will not go back to Albania. Maryam Rajavi has to keep them captive there. Others comment that even though the judge could arrange visas for them to travel to Sweden, he knows they are fine to be used in Albania, but like dogs, should be kept in a kennel at the end of the garden. For the same reason, they don’t allow Maryam Rajavi out of Albania to visit the US, EU or UK. They will use her but not bring her inside the house.

Swedish Court In Albania Grinds On – Iran Interlink Weekly Digest – Nov 12, 2021

++ The MEK is on overdrive to claim victory in the Swedish court case. This does not mean that the court has issued a verdict, we are months if not years away from that. No, they say that they are now the only witnesses in the court case. Indeed this is true, because Mesdaghi and his gang, who originally brought the case, have now disappeared. Whoever is paying for this court case has decided to support the MEK rather than both. As they say in Farsi – two Darvish can sleep on one rug, but two kings cannot live in one kingdom. Commentators say that ‘at least Mesdaghi has kept his dignity!’

MEK Base In Albania – They Gave Us a Tour

++ Other commentators go into detail about the witnesses in the Swedish court case. One such witness is Mahnaz Meimanat, head of Maryam Rajavi’s office and a commander in Saddam’s Private Army. The MEK have published her mother’s picture as though she has been executed by Iran. But in the MEK’s Farsi archives, we discover that MEK have published a memoir about her as the oldest woman who was martyred in the failed Forough Javidan (Eternal Light) operation in 1988. In this sense it was Rajavi who killed this old woman, since she had no idea about war or fighting, and was actually taking watermelons to the front line for refreshment when she was killed. Some commentators say that there were many people like her, young kids and others brought to Iraq from abroad who were sent to get killed in Forough and later had their names published by MEK as though they had been executed. Any decent court would prosecute Rajavi for killing them rather than blaming Iran. Commentators say it is a ridiculous court in which the judge accepts testimony from people with these pasts: people who have never worked a day in their lives, or paid taxes, people who have killed, and proved daily that they go into the streets and lie to beg for money to give to Rajavi [Iran Aid charity collections], people who have had their suicide operative pledge published. The conclusion of all these ridiculous things is that this is not a court about justice, this is a reflection of the anger felt by Mossad and the US against Iranians. They want to punish the Iranian people for voting for Raisi. In fact, this court case is all about Raisi. This aligns with all the other issues that have arisen since his election. Suddenly Pence and Pompeo coming out in support of MEK for example. The anger is that not only was he elected, but that he might actually come to a deal in Vienna over the JCPOA. The Neocons and Israel and Saudis have reacted and want to derail this.

MEK Terrorist Cult Members In Albania Who Mustn’t Think About Sex

++ Abdul Karim Ebrahimi has published a lengthy piece about his own and others’ memories which they have published about how Massoud and Maryam Rajavi forced them to commit and live with horrible activities while in the MEK. For example, one woman who has escaped MEK tells how the MEK used her mother – who was executed – to kill people. She says ‘I knew my mother was not a murderer and that MEK made her do this. I was brought up with them and had nowhere else to go. They used to say my Mum was executed as a human rights activist but in fact her crime was that she had killed Iranian people My Dad was a torturer in Rajavi and Saddam’s prisons. I was brought up in this environment and had to live with these things. I was even sent to Forough Javidan as a child and had no say in this. If these are not crimes against humanity and war crimes then what is, and why are they [MEK] not in court?’ Ebrahimi concludes that Raisi’s election really hurt the anti-Iran coalition. Their Farsi outlets have been vigorously against Raisi since his election. Some commentators add that while we understand the Israeli ‘Manoto’ and Saudi ‘Iran International’ outlets are really hurt by the election in Iran, we don’t understand why VOA – which is paid for by the State Department under the Biden administration – is also on overdrive promoting the MEK in the hope Raisi’s government will stop talking and abandon the JCPOA. Whoever is in charge in the US, they conclude, it is not Joe Biden.

Nobody Can Be “Comfortable” With Regime Change Involving MEK

In English:

++ Nejat Society published the second part of its series Nine Women Under the Rule of Massoud Rajavi. In this part, Maryam Sanjabi who escaped the MEK’s notorious base, Camp Ashraf, in Iraq in 2011, recounts the stories of five more of these women under the abusive ruling of the MEK authorities.

++ Anne Khodabandeh wrote ‘Maryam Rajavi Enemy of Diplomacy’ to highlight Rajavi’s real agenda among all the anti-Iranian activities and propaganda. “There is only one reason why the MEK, through disinformation, character assassination and false accusations, would need to totally reject any move toward increasing diplomatic relations with Iran. That is because the very existence of this group depends on conflict, violence and enmity. Unfortunately for Maryam Rajavi, the world has moved on without her.”

++ Nejat Society reports on a petition signed by 1,700 families of the MEK members held captive in the MEK camp in Albania. The petition is addressed to Karim A A Khan QC, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. It calls on the ICC to prosecute the leaders of the MEK who “continue to criminalize their followers and violate their most basic rights on European soil. And to rule for the rescue of hundreds of captives who are currently held incommunicado in the Rajavi Cult’s closed, isolated and remote camp in Albania.”

++ Press TV reports: “A senior official of Iran’s Judiciary has slammed Western countries for adopting a “selective” approach to human rights by allowing the anti-Iran Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) terrorist organization to hold “ridiculous” meetings on the issue.
“Kazem Gharibabadi, the Iranian Judiciary chief’s deputy for international affairs and secretary of the country’s High Council for Human Rights, made the remarks on Saturday, two days after the MKO ringleader delivered an online address to an Italian Senate panel.
“Gharibabadi strongly condemned the session, calling on the Italian government and Senate to end their “dual and destructive policies” towards terrorism and human rights.”

++ Mehr News reported that the “Secretary of Iranian Judiciary’s Human Rights Council Kazem Gharibabadi has lambasted the European countries for supporting the MKO as well as siding with the US sanctions against Tehran while claiming to be HR defenders… in an apparent reference to gatherings in European countries and the United States organized by the MKO terrorist organization which are usually attended by the hawkish US politicians, Gharibabadi lambasted the Western countries for their double standards regarding human rights. He pointed out that while the Western governments sponsor the atrocities committed by the MKO Iranian innocent Iranians, they make claims on the human rights situation in Iran.”

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest Mojahedin Khalq MEK NCRI Rajavi cult++ Al Jazeera reported the death this week of former Iranian president Abolhassan Bani in Paris. Bani Sadr left Iran with Massoud Rajavi in 1981. Commentary on his death focused on the point that he was fooled by Rajavi to come to Paris to join a coalition of opposition forces. However, when he discovered that Rajavi was going to work with Saddam Hussein (during the Iran-Iraq war) he refused to continue working with Rajavi and the MEK. After this split Bani Sadr became pro-active in helping former MEK members in the West and in promoting human rights.

++ News that Albania is to be used by the UK Home Office to host its asylum seekers is not a new phenomenon. The Americans also recently said they would ‘temporarily’ hold Afghan refugees in Albania for processing. Albania is notorious as a centre for quarantine to hold questionable people and to see what to do with them. In these recent examples, Britain and the US will choose which asylum seekers they want – which are useful – and reject those who are unwanted or even dangerous. The situation with the MEK was the same. The original US plan was to move the MEK members from Iraq to Albania, choose who they wanted and disperse the rest into the community. But with the MEK the Americans changed their mind under pressure by the Israelis, Neocons and anti-Iran elements, and instead of de-radicalising them, gave them land and support to build the cult again. Maryam Rajavi admitted that the MEK was not capable of doing what it had done with Saddam Hussein, but she convinced these backers that she could get the MEK to work under the tutelage of Prince Turki; intelligence based work that they had also done for Saddam. So, the click farm was established and the MEK set about stitching people up, feeding the false court case of Hamid Nouri and other dirty work like helping Israel with the assassination of Iran’s nuclear scientists.

++ As the court case of Hamid Nouri rumbles on in Sweden, several commentators reacted to the public rivalry between Maryam Rajavi and chief witness Iraj Mesdaghi. The MEK sites are totally allocated to him now and the MEK even published a thick book just to demonise him. Ironically, everything in the book and on the sites is based on some documents allegedly originating from inside Gohardasht prison and Iran’s Intelligence ministry which purportedly show that Mesdaghi did not resist under torture. Commentators have asked ‘did any other people actually resist torture?’ People also ask: ‘Who except Iranian intelligence could feed you that information. Are you claiming to have access to Iran’s Intelligence ministry?’ Commentators point out that three times more information than this has been exposed about Massoud Rajavi himself. Including former SAVAK officials admitting that after his arrest he cooperated with them, and that is why he wasn’t executed along with the other leading MEK members in 1972. They detailed the information that Rajavi gave up – naming the places and people and plans he exposed so they could be arrested. People now ask how those documents about Rajavi are different from these about Mesdaghi. But the main issue that people are highlighting is what kind of court is this in Sweden where the witnesses are publishing books against each other during the court case and accusing each other of being paid agents of the Intelligence ministry of Iran and the Swedish judge doesn’t either see or care.

++ Atefeh Nadalian from Nejat Society, Tehran has published a lengthy analysis with facts about women in the MEK, titled ‘From Talking to Deeds’. Nadalian explains how from the start of the MEK to the present time, the MEK talk constantly about how pro-women the organisation is. But in their deeds the MEK is shown to enact the worst suppression of women even from the time of the Shah. In the MEK, marriage, divorce, having children, giving up children, are all done by force. Women in the MEK don’t even have the rights of a farmyard animal, let alone human rights. The situation now is so inhumane that elderly MEK women are banned from having the support of their families in their old age. Their families cannot care for them, or even place them in a home so as to give them comfort and dignity. All this, however, is different when it comes to the Qajar-Azodanlu and Abrishamchi families. They are rolling in wealth and castles and privilege.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde held talks on bilateral ties and regional issues, including the situation in Yemen and Afghanistan during their meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, held on Friday, the Swedish foreign minister referred to the 400-year history of the relations between the two countries. She praised the Iranian expatriates living in Sweden as well-educated and added that she has personally visited Iran.

Linde noted that Sweden seeks expansion of ties with Iran and proposed a meeting of the joint political committee of the two countries to be held in Tehran in the near future.

She also touched on the crisis in Yemen, saying her country is committed to help end the crisis. The top diplomat added that Sweden is in contact with all sides in Yemen and considers consultations with Iran in this regard as essential.

During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister also said the volume of trade and economic ties between the two countries is currently not at a favorable level. Amirabdollahian called for measures to improve and upgrade trade exchanges between the two countries, including through facilitation of the ties between private sectors, establishment of direct flights and easing of travel between the two countries.

The top diplomat also stressed that the crisis in Yemen does not have any military solution, saying the human crisis should be addressed through lifting of the [Saudi-led] blockade.

He added that the conflict in Yemen is an unequal war in which the people of the country are targeted in acts of cowardice.

++ The trial of Hamid Nouri in Sweden has again thrown up questions about the neutrality of the Swedish judicial system. Examining conditions pertaining to this trial, it is clear that it is not about justice, but is being held as an anti-Iran loudspeaker. Iran has not politicised the trial, that has been done by the prosecutors and witnesses. But this video was produced in Iran. It mocks the court case by exposing the contradictory behaviour of those involved. In the film we see British-Iranian human rights lawyer Kaveh Moussavi, prosecuting lawyer, denouncing the role of chief prosecution witness Iraj Mesdaghi for endangering the trial. The film shows Mesdaghi admitting entrapment of the defendant.

He explains how ‘we’ tricked Hamid Nouri into coming to Sweden with the promise of luxury hotels, trips, cruises, women and more. He says ‘we’ spent a lot of money to do that. This while Iraj Mesdaghi has not had a proper job or income all his life. It is interesting that a BBC article cites Moussavi as the leading prosecuting lawyer, while in the video Moussavi calls chief witness Mesdaghi a liar. Certainly, his accounts as a witness would, in any normal court, be inadmissible. But this is clearly not a normal court case. On one hand Mesdaghi is glorifying himself to claim credit for bringing Nouri to the court. On the other hand, we have dozens of MEK witnesses standing side by side in the street with flags and placards boasting their involvement with the regime of Saddam Hussein at the time the events took place for which Nouri is on trial. Allowing these witnesses to give their 30-year-old accounts of events will allow the case to be dragged on for at least two years. Whether Nouri is guilty or not, the way this trial is being conducted exposes the corruption and misuse of the Swedish legal system. Much in the same way as the attempt to get Julian Assange extradited to Sweden from the UK on rape charges which were eventually dropped when this plan failed. In the case of Hamid Nouri, the court case started without even proving the identity of the defendant. His lawyers say he is not the accused person and that it is a case of mistaken identity. Still the witnesses are given a platform to complain about the broken showers in the prison thirty years ago. This is not about justice it is a politicised trial to find Iran guilty.

In English:

++ As the MEK celebrated the 57th anniversary of its foundation, Anne Khodabandeh wrote questioning the identity of the MEK. Created as an armed anti-Imperialist guerrilla force, the MEK has undergone chameleon-like changes until it now represents the complete opposite to that. It now finds its place at the heart of American Imperialism; linked to extremists in the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia by money and ideology. This came about because Massoud Rajavi chose to turn the group into a personality cult, diverting it from its political struggles to basically worshipping him instead. As Maryam Rajavi celebrates, it is unclear whether the brainwashed members are capable of overcoming the inherent dissonance in their situation to actually see what their organisation has become.

++ Several outlets have repeated various historical articles and accounts about the MEK over the past week. From accounts by former members of human rights abuses, to pieces condemning the MEK for its bombing campaign against political leaders and civilians, and the separation of children from the members. On the anniversary of 9/11, Iran-Interlink re-published several pieces from its archive. These reveal that Massoud Rajavi celebrated the terrorist attacks in America, claiming that his MEK could do even better to accomplish what Al Qaida didn’t succeed in. These pieces point out the hypocrisy of those American and the Saudis who support the MEK.

Terrorism victims in Iran call for prosecution of MEK

Mashhad, IRNA – Habilian Association that protects families of terrorism victims in Iran called for legal prosecution of crimes committed by People’s Mujahedin Organization (MEK), known as Monafiqeen (hypocrites) in Iran.

Mohammad Javad Hasheminejad, Secretary General of Habilian Association, said in an interview with IRNA that several legal entities and communities outside Iran have acknowledged the terrorist nature of crimes committed by the MEK.

However, different administrations in Iran have failed to actively prosecute and follow up the terrorist group legally and realize the rights of families of terrorism victims, according to Hasheminejad.

He also said that the fact that the US and European Union had recognized the MEK as a terrorist group for years indicated that even Western countries admitted the terrorist essence of their crimes.

Pointing to the significant number of 17,000 people martyred in terrorist attacks in Iran, the secretary general said that the new administration should take the demands of families serious.

If Iran falls short of expressing the reality of these crimes and hold the perpetrators accountable, the committers who are now protected by some governments will present a reverse narrative of the realities taken place during the past decades, he insisted.

Hasheminejad also referred to the trial of an Iranian citizen in a Swedish court, saying that such trials are aimed at putting the victim in the place of the executioner.

He noted that some people who have attended the Swedish court as witnesses were accused of crime and massacre of Iranians and Iran should hold European countries accountable in this regard.

MEK Invalidates Swedish Court

Rajavi loses ground to Mesdaghi – Iran Interlink Weekly Digest – Aug 28, 2021

++ A film and article about the MEK in Albania was published by Sunday Times journalist Matthew Campbell. Twenty years ago, Campbell had links with the MEK through Hossein Abedini, in the MEK’s Public Relations department, who has since vanished from public life. For decades, the MEK wouldn’t trust journalists to visit their camps: before this the New York Times and National Geographic’s Michael Ware were the only media invited in. Certainly, nobody until now was granted an interview with Maryam Rajavi. According to internal sources, her brief appearance was strictly controlled, with Campbells’ film of the interview being checked before he left the camp to ensure he had no unwanted footage. (He is of course, invited to disavow this information.) Even so, he couldn’t disguise Rajavi’s fish-eyed appearance and wooden pose along with her out of date knowledge of Iranian civil society.

Campbell tried his best to make something positive for the MEK. Reviewing the one-sided nature of the report prompted Massoud Khodabandeh to address Campbell in the Comments saying that

“Good to see they have accepted a journalist inside at all. The picture would have been completed with more info about their time (Most of their active lives) with Saddam, fighting their own country.”

Inevitably the film couldn’t avoid showing some of the realities in the camp: the computer rooms showed that, prompted by this article, the MEK had made some effort to look more ‘normal’ (mugs on the tables, pictures of the leader on the desks instead of on the walls), but the plastic garden chairs, and unsuitable spectacles were still in evidence.

Later Ebrahim Khodabandeh, CEO of Nejat Society wrote an analysis of Campbell’s report, going into some details. Specifically, he pointed out that in this film they deny that they have daily confessional sessions. He said ‘this is where they are: forget about even talking about their missing leader Massoud Rajavi, they can’t admit to an audience of ordinary people what they are doing now on a daily basis. This is the sign of a cult. It is, of course, a welcome move that with no kids in the camp they have accepted to admit that they have universal divorces. They used to deny this. In Farsi, many commented that in parts of the film they could not avoid showing reality because it is so obvious. Even though it’s an advert they can’t hide it. Hence, the two young girls who looked like they couldn’t punch their way out of paper bag talking about the violent overthrow of the regime; the young man who couldn’t find Iran on a map, fooled into becoming the next suicide bomber; the elderly man on a mobility scooter which reminded everyone of the incontinence pad photograph.

Several people commented that this promotional film has backfired and has been a waste of Saudi money. The MEK had hoped to go on to advertise their brand on the back of this film. Instead, first they had to denounce that part of the film in which Campbell had tried to be even handed, the interview with ex-member Hassan Heyrani. They attacked the ex-members as though they had been responsible for making the film. Then they stopped talking about the film altogether. This prompted mockery as commentators suggested that Shahin Gobadi would have had to go into isolation and write a report since Maryam Rajavi would blame him for bringing the reporter in the first place: ‘Regrets, I have a few…’.

++ The court case of Hamid Nouri in Stockholm is an example of how a country’s judicial system can be compromised by bending to someone else’s agenda. The case is being covered daily by Saudi backed Iran International; BBC Farsi and every other anti-Iran outlet are also on top of it. It is a case in which the prosecutor has chosen 50 people to give evidence against the defendant – some are appointed as victims and some as witnesses. This week, Massoud Khodabandeh, Sara Zahiri, a reporter in Iran, and Peyman Aref, international law expert in Brussels. joined Vahid Farkhondeh, a journalist in Switzerland for an online programme called Kelid Vajeh to discuss this court case.

Zahiri explained the situation of the MEK from an Iranian point of view; what happened in the Forough Javidan operation in Iran and how Iranians consider the MEK, killing their own people. Farkhondeh and Aref examined details about the court itself. How, according to international law – or any law – the court must first prove that this defendant is the person they say he is, especially since pseudonyms have been used. Yet there is no proof except the witnesses. The defendant denies he is that person and says that he wasn’t where it is claimed he was at that time. Considering that this basic fact-checking has not been done, it is interesting that the prosecutor brought 50 people to testify against him. Choosing so many people to give evidence means that if the court works 3 days per week and each person takes some days to give their evidence, this court case will not take less than 3 years. This looks like a deliberate act. This becomes more suspicious since the court room is filmed without hindrance and broadcast to the anti-Iran media. It is then immediately amplified by the MEK who put their spin on events. The programme’s contributors said this is very strange and that the lawyers of this defendant should take note of these irregularities and question them.

Rajavi Verses Mesdaghi - Hanid Nouri Court

Massoud Khodabandeh talked more about irregularities concerning the witnesses. Specifically relating to the judicial system in Sweden. He recalled that the same system went after Julian Assange on rape charges and when it became too obvious this was a ploy to get him brought to Sweden to be handed over to the Americans, they had to back off with the ridiculous excuse that the memories of the witnesses had faded. Yet in this case, the memories of fifty people are clear enough after three decades. So that they can state categorically that from behind a blindfold thirty years ago, I remembered that this is the same guy. Khodabandeh also said that ironically all these witnesses stand outside the court together, with MEK flags in their hands, declaring victory. The same flag they used to attack Iran with Saddam’s army. He also made the point that these people, however the Swedish judiciary thinks they are credible, are members of a cult, who will kill for their leader never mind lying for their leader. There are pictures of some of them getting ‘charity’ collections in the street (Iran Aid). Khodabandeh said, I cannot find a single one of them who had a proper job whether window cleaner of brain surgeon and paid a penny of tax to their country of residence. Whatever is the Swedish judicial bench mark for the credibility of witnesses, they have tried to choose people from MEK who are not widely known. If they wanted to, they could have brought 500. They have the numbers. If this is the case, am I allowed to bring 200 people to come and testify that each of these people and the prosecutor and the judge have a unicorn horn on their heads but don’t know it themselves. It is not a matter of whether this is a kangaroo court or not, the point is that it has been exposed to be a mockery of what it is. That is due to the ‘tools’ not doing what they should. The first and primary witness, Iraj Mesdaghi cannot keep his mouth shut and gives interviews boasting how ‘we’ fooled this man, set a trap to bring him to Sweden, offering a luxury yacht and five-star hotels to lure him here. In other words, entrapment. He emphasises that “we” paid for it ourselves. This begs the question, because Mesdaghi is an ex-member who never worked and who lives a fairly ordinary life, where is this money from? As is usual, each and every anti-Iran human rights activist claims that we don’t get paid by this one or that one, but that doesn’t address the question ‘where DO you get money from’. Is it possible for Mesdaghi to be a credible witness when he freely admits to having entrapped the defendant. Specifically, the way he gives evidence is interesting. He is allowed to simply talk for an hour or so without being interrupted or questioned. This is because the prosecutors want him to talk. They are giving him a platform to be filmed rather than acting as a witness. Indeed, they give him so much time that he runs out of material; once he ended up describing in detail how in the prison one of the taps wasn’t working properly and dripped. Mesdaghi is a wild card who seeks attention and fame and cannot be controlled. On the ‘other side’ of Mesdaghi is the MEK.

Khodabandeh said that according to sources inside the camp, the MEK are facing the concept that Iraj Mesdaghi has taken over from Maryam Rajavi in terms of importance and prominence. This concern is directed at the ones who are paying; Mesdaghi will get the money rather than us. Again, the payers cannot control the MEK any more than Mesdaghi. Although 50 relatively unknown people were chosen out of the 2000 members, they can’t help coming out and taking photos together under the MEK flag. They don’t care about the court case, they only want to out publicise Maryam Rajavi . When Maryam Rajavi agrees to talk with the Sunday Times journalist and approves publication of the programme it is in order to attach this interview to the court case. Two years down the line they will refer to this court case and Maryam Rajavi’s leadership and link it to president Ebrahim Raisi, saying next court case should be against him. So overwhelmed have the MEK become to get on top of this propaganda opportunity that they have had to divide their Farsi outlets to use this material – some propaganda outlets are for the MEK and some propaganda is specifically against Mesdaghi and his gang.

In the programme, the presenter Farkhondeh asked what the outcome of the court would be. Khodabandeh said that it is not about the outcome. Of course, for the defendant, it’s important, but the purpose of the court case is not the outcome but the journey. It is not about justice; it is about two or three years of anti-Iran propaganda. The conclusion is that the court case is about propaganda against Iran, which doesn’t take it seriously. The real damage is that done to the Swedish judiciary as in the Assange case. The message is that ‘Sweden is not impartial, we can bend our rules and regulations’. As a UK citizen I am unhappy that Sweden is going down this path of being used by those who have their own agenda.
